OPINION:
Republicans and Democrats in Congress need to investigate how the FBI uses the CIA and National Security Agency to spy on American citizens — without warrants (“FBI reveals it uses CIA and NSA to spy on Americans,” Web, Jan. 10). It must remove Cabinet members who knew or should have known of this breach of trust with the people. Their activities are straight out of Gestapo and KGB manuals on how to impose totalitarian rule on a nation’s citizens; Hitler and Stalin would be proud.
I hope some 18 million veterans will join me in condemning the executive department that allowed these agencies to violate the Constitution of the oldest extant government on Earth. Founders and patriots from the private sector created America’s government to protect the unalienable rights of each individual. America made progress with the Civil War, but our nation has not reached its potential, and we veterans pledged our lives to fulfill this dream.
Today, the spiritual descendants of founders and patriots, some 150 million strong, work in the private sector. We are profit earners, and we make a real contribution to America.
