OPINION:
The primary reason for hatred is jealousy. And the jealousy is often related to success.
Football fans far beyond New England hated the New England Patriots football team due to its successful seasons. Many baseball fans have long hated the New York Yankees for the same reason.
Less-successful people frequently despise those who are successful. Various races, ethnicities and religions in the world are routinely persecuted, often because of their high success rates in fields of endeavor. In the U.S., Asian and Indian Americans have experienced hateful acts and speech by jealous people. Jews have been the recipients of hatred over the ages due to jealousy over their successes. Successful Christians have experienced physical violence and hatred in Muslim countries.
Many haters have experienced failure, whether in childhood, marriage, romance, school, work or their personal finances.
Maybe jealous people should stop trying to lift themselves up by putting others down, and instead work at improving their own positions in life.
