Most people consider murdering innocent civilians in a terror attack to be a terrible thing, but not everyone. Some journalists consider it the same as soldiers killing terrorists while trying to disrupt the terrorist attack. A prime example is Ayman Mohyeldin, a reporter for MSNBC.

Mr. Mohyeldin sees little or no difference between seven Israelis who were murdered outside a Jerusalem synagogue on Friday night and nine Palestinians terrorists killed the previous day. The difference is that the Palestinians were killed because they were about to conduct murderous attacks and eliminating them was the only sure way to prevent the murders. The Israelis, on the other hand, were killed while leaving a synagogue on their sabbath. The terrorists could have surrendered peacefully but decided in favor of a gun battle.

The Israeli soldiers are heroes for conducting a counter-terrorism operation. They risked their lives trying to prevent a massacre. Fortunately, most people do see a difference between stopping a “ticking time bomb” and the murder of innocent people.
