The Biden administration’s responses to the incursion by China’s spy balloon into U.S. airspace have run the full gamut, from deadly serious to comedy and jokes. They bring to mind the Alan Parsons Project, a British rock band of the ‘70s and ‘80s, which in 1982 released a song titled “Eye in the Sky.” The refrain of the song is undoubtedly and unfortunately applicable today: “I am the eye in the sky/Looking at you. I can read your mind/I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools/I can cheat you blind.”

Along with the myriad other geopolitical, military and security threats facing the U.S., what role in the refrain does President Xi Jinping’s Chinese Communist Party play? What role does Biden’s administration play? With all due respect to Biden and his constant proclamations on many other issues, this matter is not a joke. The answer is deadly serious.
