OPINION:
As has been said so many times before, follow the money (“California reparations task force under pressure to follow San Francisco’s $5 million example,” Web, Jan. 28). The race-baiting socialists in California started at $1 million per person, but we all knew that figure would never be enough.
Indeed, in short order the dollar amount that made everyone more comfortable was $5 million per person. Yet as it turns out, that wasn’t enough, either. Total debt forgiveness was the next extortion demand. Then, to nobody’s surprise, came the announcement that actually, all of that wouldn’t be sufficient to satisfy “equality”-based greed.
Slavery is gone and done, and has been for more than a century-and-a-half. I have no intention of being held hostage for the acts of other people, either now or in the past. I hold no other person responsible for the suffering of my ancestors and I will not pay ransom to petty thieves for forgiveness they have no authority to grant.
I am setting America free as of this moment. We are no longer under the yoke of racial tyranny and those who expect enrichment on the backs of those who truly suffered should never see so much as a single copper penny.
Anyone who wants equality can have it simply by existing. Anyone who seeks revenge or wealth disguised as “equality” or “equity” should be shunned.
