An AmeriGas Partners building in Independence Township, Pennsylvania, burned to the ground Friday after two propane tanks exploded in a garage at 3:40 p.m.
No injuries were reported from the explosion, Independence Township Fire-EMS posted on Facebook.
The building hosting the garage was gutted.
“The only thing standing is the four walls. Everything in there is a complete loss,” Independence Township Fire Chief Jeri New told Pittsburgh ABC affiliate WTAE-TV.
Larger tanks elsewhere in the facility were unaffected and were shut off.
In a statement, AmeriGas told local NBC station WPXI, “We have been notified of the situation, and AmeriGas personnel are on the scene. We will begin the investigation as soon as possible.”
Independence is a half hour northwest of Pittsburgh.
