OPINION:
A curled forefinger, doddery and speckled with beach sand, slyly hoists a Chinese-diamond-studded shirt cuff and languid, soupy eyes drop clandestinely to gauge the precise time displayed on a Rolex—as American-flag-cloaked coffins are carried with white gloves from a military transport plane.
On Aug. 26, 2021, during the Afghanistan withdrawal authorized by President Biden, 13 American soldiers were killed by a suicide bomber at the Kabul International Airport. Three days later, on Aug. 29, Biden was present when their bodies were returned to the United States at Dover Air Base in Delaware, 49 minutes away from Rehoboth Beach.
This is the only campaign ad I need for the 2024 presidential election.
