Body cameras don’t lie

OPINION:

The police are supposed to protect and serve citizens.

But when our officers make controversial decisions, we have to hold them accountable to prevent tragic and unlawful actions.

Dangerous situations can and do happen, especially in the current climate. But in some scenarios, police officers do not have to use their firearms in order to protect themselves or those around them.

That’s why the full use of body cameras is so important. These devices capture exactly what happens during any citizen-officer interaction.

All police officers should wear body cameras.
