Sun’s out … calves out?
LIV Golf is bucking the golf establishment again by offering another player-friendly element to its tour: shorts.
LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman announced over the weekend that the tour’s golfers will be allowed to wear shorts during tournaments. Players on the PGA Tour are only allowed to show off their calves during practice rounds.
“It’s official. As of tomorrow, LIV players will be able to wear shorts. The first league or tour ever to make it official,” Norman said in a video posted on LIV Golf’s social media pages.

“I can’t wait,” replied Phil Mickelson, the most famous player to receive a nine-figure payout to spurn the PGA Tour and join LIV Golf.
Pants vs. shorts has been a heavily debated topic in golf in recent years. The PGA Tour first allowed players to wear shorts during practice rounds in February 2019.
LIV Golf’s fourth event is this weekend at The International in Bolton, Massachusetts. Players were allowed to wear shorts beginning Saturday.
