OPINION:
This week at the White House President Biden, House Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Schumer were all touting to an adoring crowd of Democratic Party government staffers the new Inflation Reduction Act. At the same time, inflation continued at over 8% (some say it would be 16% if the formula from the 1980s had been used) and the stock market dropped more in one day than it had in a decade.Â
This made me think of “The Hunger Games,” where those in the capital city were totally divorced from the realities of the rest of the country. I also liken it to the Emerald City in “The Wizard of Oz” or the book “1984,” in which most of what the government says is the opposite of reality.Â
In short, the inmates have taken over the asylum. Â Â Â
