OPINION:
According to the Biden administration, the Democrats and their media supporters, forgiving unpaid delinquent student loans is the major issue facing our country. To this, I and many other Americans say baloney.
A student loan is a legal contract. The student agrees to pay back the entirety of a specific loan in a specific time frame. Those who are in arrears should take out personal loans to repay the loans if they are in default.  Instead, however, they want us taxpayers to bail them out with higher taxes. This is selfishness, pure and simple, and total failure to care about the rest of us, who might survive on fixed incomes. Why isn’t Biden paying not pay off our mortgages or auto loans, too?
Politicians are using this loan forgiveness issue to buy votes in the upcoming election. It is no more than attempted bribery.
What the loan forgivers will not answer is this: Will those who worked hard and sacrificed to pay their student loans get their money back? Will parents who paid back their children’s student loans be reimbursed?
My first solution to the debtors is to work two or three jobs. If you went to an Ivy League college to be a doctor or a lawyer, you get no sympathy. A state college would have given you just as good an education.
Want to get your college tuition paid? Join the military. Serve four or more years. If you get an honorable discharge, you can use the GI bill to go to college. If not, pay up!
