LANDOVER — Six weeks to the day he was shot twice, Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson is active and will make his season debut Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

The Commanders activated Robinson, who was wounded in late August in an attempted armed robbery when he was attacked by two teenage boys in the District. He came off the non-football injury list Saturday, days after he completed his first full week of practice since the incident. Coach Ron Rivera said Friday the rookie had a “good week,” but the team had to see how he was the following morning before making a decision on whether he’d play.

With Robinson available, he’s expected to boost Washington’s running game with his strong, physical rushing style. ESPN, however, reported that Robinson will likely be on a pitch count against the Titans.

Elsewhere, tight end Logan Thomas was among those on the team’s inactive list as he was ruled out with a calf injury. Thomas popped up on the injury report Friday and was listed as questionable to play.

Five of the Commanders’ seven inactives this week featured players that were injured. The players out are: Thomas (calf), tackle Sam Cosmi (thumb), wide receiver Jahan Dotson (hamstring), linebacker David Mayo (hamstring), safety Percy Butler (quad), cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields and quarterback Sam Howell.

The team also placed linebacker Milo Eifler (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday, while elevating linebackers Khaleke Hudson and De’Jon Harris from the practice squad to the active roster.
