Your body or the government’s?

OPINION:

I am puzzled by the fact that the political left believes a woman has the absolute right, as part of owning her own body, to have an abortion. Basically, this means they want to be able to terminate the life of a person who has not yet been born without the state interfering. Yet many of the same people who support the right to abortion also believe the state should be able to mandate multiple COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters if they want a job or to fly on a commercial airline. 

The latter would make some sense if the vaccinations were 95% effective at preventing COVID-19 or even the transmission of COVID-19, but that’s not the case. As we now know per the CDC, all the vaccinations and boosters do is diminish the effects of the virus if one contracts it. There are many people, including President Biden, who have been fully vaccinated and boosted and then had COVID-19 several times.  

These mandatory vaccinations have never been fully approved by the CDC or FDA. Instead, they have been authorized under an  emergency protocol. Thus, these vaccinations, unlike those for polio and measles, have never been fully certified for safety or efficacy.

In recent weeks, the insanity has gotten worse. The secretary of defense has announced that the military will set up a program to pay to have military personnel travel to obtain abortions if their location has banned the procedure. At the same time, the military is still kicking military personnel out for refusing to get the (ineffective) COVID-19 vaccination. When I was in the military I had to take many vaccinations, but they were all previously fully approved by the CDC and FDA.
