I appeal to the public and elected officials not to blame guns for the senseless shooting deaths in Texas last week, and to refrain from tying to prohibit guns them from law-abiding citizens. Instead, legislators should immediately remove the prohibition of guns from school zones. Why do shooters pick schools to attack for their lunatic killing sprees? Because there are signs everywhere stating that guns are prohibited on school property, and this makes campuses very soft targets. A shooter knows there will not be any armed resistance when he gets into the school.

With the technology we have, we can have a video camera on every entrance to every school, and keep all doors locked (with crash bars so people can leave in an emergency). If someone inside lets a person in, the alarm would sound. Other countries may ask, why does this happen only in America? In Europe terrorists use improvised explosive devices, like when Lord Louis Mountbatten was assassinated, or in 2004 in the Madrid train bombing that killed 193 people and injured many more.

America does not need gun control; it needs criminal control and to use our available technologies. Do not take guns away from law-abiding Americans who could use those weapons to minimize the carnage caused by these lunatics.
