OPINION:
What did we expect would happen when we allowed Democrats to encourage an industrialized criminal operation to evolve on both sides of our southern border (“Drug cartels surge amid Biden’s border shifts and falling cooperation with Mexico,” Web, Feb. 16)? Soon Mexico will be an American Afghanistan, and we will be forced to either go to war or accept a mafia state to the south. The latter would entail hundreds of thousands of deaths annually.
“MexAmerica” has become a criminal enterprise and some Americans may soon find it safer to move than accept the smell of corruption, which now even pervades our own justice establishment.
Year after year, China becomes stronger and helps Mexico weaken America. And what do we do? Thus far, nothing but accept our fate. Remember, this has all happened once before. The most powerful empire on Earth simply disintegrated without a fight. Its name was Rome, and it was great empire that no longer exists — except allegorically.
