OPINION:
The U.S., with the world’s best economy and military, has had presidents who used peace through strength to deter and preempt enemy attacks. Under President Biden and the Democrats, however, energy policies have weakened our economy. Our cities are not secure and our citizens are struggling to pay very high fuel, food and utility prices.
Our current military priorities are equity and climate-change mitigation rather than defense against the threats of Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. The U.S. was able to get coalitions to unite against tyranny in Kuwait and Afghanistan. The Biden administration should remember this to prevent further slaughter in Ukraine by the war criminal Vladimir Putin.
Curbing domestic energy development only to use Russian and Middle East sources instead makes no sense. The pollutants are the same, and in this case we pay other countries and they add jobs. The simple solution is to resume our previous energy policies, which will make us energy independent, reduce the stress on our struggling citizens, improve the economy, provide thousands of jobs and most importantly help keep Ukraine free by downsizing Mr. Putin’s war chest.
