In Greek mythology, everything King Midas touched turned to gold. We are now witnessing what can be called the Biden touch, where everything President Biden touches turns to dross. Unfortunately, rather than a myth, it is all too real. Former President Obama’s reported remark that one should never underestimate Mr. Biden’s ability to mess things up has become abundantly prescient.

The swiftness of the destruction of America is breathtaking. Starting with the cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline on day one of Mr. Biden’s presidency and moving to the obscene number of illegals crossing our southern border, this president has turned a once proud and prosperous country into a second-class pseudo monarchy in a little over a year. (Not to mention the rampant inflation.)

Perhaps Mr. Biden’s worst blunder of all is the disastrous withdraw from Afghanistan, which resulted in the needless and tragic death of 13 brave service members. Not only was it an unnecessary tragedy, but it signaled to our geopolitical enemies that the Biden administration is weak and feckless. As a result, Vladmir Putin seized the opportunity to invade Ukraine, and North Korea, China and Iran are licking their chops. Some are now suggesting that we face the possibility of World War III.

America needs to wake up. Our leadership, if you can call it that, has lost its way. Perhaps we need to heed the words of Alexander Solzhenitsyn when he warned, “We have placed too much hope in social and political reforms only to find out that we are being deprived of our most valuable possession: our spiritual life.” God bless America.
