OPINION:
I don’t know who’s worse: President Putin for invading the Ukraine, killing innocent women and children, or President Biden, who commits treason, colluding with Russia and trying to broker a deal for oil with our sworn enemy Iran.
Russia threatens World War III if we take action in Ukraine, while Mr. Biden uses excuses with Mr. Putin, showing a lack of respect and faith in his own country. What we should do immediately is remove Russia from NATO for killing innocent nonmembers indiscriminately.
Russia joined NATO agreeing to the following in 1994: “The Parties to this Treaty reaffirm their faith in the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and their desire to live in peace with all peoples and all governments.”
In 2014 NATO unanimously suspended cooperation with the Russian Federation after its assault on Ukraine. As far as I know, it never removed Russia from NATO, which brings me to Article 5. It holds that “an attack on one member is an attack of all members.” Does that mean Mr. Putin can attack any nonmember he chooses without consequences from the other members of NATO?
Mr. Putin has violated all 14 NATO articles so we should make a 15th that covers the removal of any bad actor by majority vote. If they change the rules immediately, other NATO countries wouldn’t be bound by Article 5 because Russia would no longer be a member. Then the world wouldn’t be subject to reprisals from NATO, which should stop Mr. Putin’s murderous rampage.
