OPINION:
As a Baltimore police sergeant lies in the city’s shock trauma unit after being dragged for two blocks by a criminal he had stopped, the mayor and police commissioner are decrying an apparent, widespread lack of respect for human (in particular, police) life.
They are saying that people with such a disregard will shoot anyone who gets in their way. And the mayor and police commissioner are correct for once. But they need to examine their liberal values and statements over the years, because I believe that there are three liberal values that have encouraged this thuggery.
First is the belief many seem to have that they are entitled to more rights than others because they have been victims of poverty, racism, a poor education, etc. In a country that should believe all people are created equal, there should never be a ’class above’ for any reason. Yet just look at how politicians in the House and Senate flout the law when it suits them.
Second, liberals believe they have the right to take the life of a living being in the womb — for any reason, even after birth. The racist abortion industry has taken more lives in the Black community than it has anywhere else. With that creating an atmosphere of easy death for little reason, it is a short jump to killing anyone you think is in your way.
Third, if you have gotten rid of God, prayer and faith in society, an individual’s desires become their god and to appease it becomes their faith. Their lives revolve around themselves. So when liberals drag down respect for police, making them all “racists” and “pigs” and calling for their defunding, their value in the community goes down quickly.
Liberals, look in the mirror. Your values, solutions to problems and statements have played a large part in the increase in officer abuse.
