OPINION:
The last thing the Jewish people want to hear is that Jerusalem will once again come under siege. But a Turkish plan is forming an “army of Islam” to invade Israel. The Old Testament reveals that Islamic forces surrounding Israel will move into Jerusalem, take the city, plunder the homes, rape the women and exile half the city (Zechariah 14:2). Some Jewish scholars say this happened in the year 70 A.D., when Rome invaded Jerusalem, but the verse that follows it says Israel’s Messiah, Jesus Christ, will personally intervene and end the invasion.
Alpaslan Kavaklioglu of Turkey’s ruling AKP has said: “Europe will be Muslim. We will be effective there, Allah willing. I am sure of that.” Allah may be willing, but the armies of Islam have a date with Israel’s Messiah.
