OPINION:
Watching our world elites creating hysteria and fear as an excuse to restrict our freedoms is infuriating. Photographic evidence from all over the world proves that sea levels are not rising as claimed. It’s also been clearly shown that where it appears levels are rising, it’s due to the land subsiding as coastal aquifers are drained.
As I was taught in grammar school in the ’60s, glaciers have been receding for centuries. That fact was once viewed as beneficial for humankind. Further, without ice breaking off, the Antarctic ice mass would become untenable. Photos from space show that, rather than shrinking, the Antarctic ice mass both grows and shrinks, but overall is still growing. The break-off of accumulated ice is normal, and many bergs and floes are a natural result of volcanic activity beneath the ice.
The record also shows that neither storm nor wildfire activity has increased substantially. In fact, in recent years both have been well below historical records, often below historic norms. In the 1920s and ’30s, for example, millions of acres burned in the western United States, and worldwide millions of people died annually from natural disasters.
If our world is truly warming, we should also keep in mind that cold kills far more people than heat. Our efforts should be directed toward ways to protect ourselves. Making energy more expensive will have the opposite effect, directly causing more deaths and misery.
I’m not claiming that we have nothing to worry about. Plastic pollution of our oceans and the looming environmental disaster resulting from our headlong rush into so-called “renewable” energy are very real concerns. However, those who use climate change as their rationale for a massive transformation of our everyday lives, requiring us to cede to them the freedoms guaranteed to us in our Constitution, are gaslighting us. Please don’t fall for their manipulation.
