OPINION:
What happened to the age of Aquarius? The good old ’60s with peace, love and openness to ideas? My heroes from those days are suddenly all for censoring. What is it they’re afraid of people knowing?
This pandemic (and maybe former President Trump) has turned the world inside out. Politics has made such a hot mess of things that ideas that seem a bit sideways are being demonized. It’s become a morality pageant. The winner gets to evangelize their chosen narrative. And that’s a narrative that shall be challenged only when the antagonist is willing to endure a knockout punch.
I have a suggestion for Neal and Joanie: Pick a nice sunny afternoon and listen to a few episodes of Joe Rogan’s podcast. You’ll see that all he’s doing is exploring the world and its intricacies and dimensions with openness and wonder. You know, like we all use to do back in the day.
