Los Angeles Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth finally earned a Super Bowl ring in his 16th season in the NFL. But his youngest daughter, Katherine, didn’t seem too interested in the action on the field.
“My daughter ended up going viral during the game,” Whitworth said Tuesday on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” “She was reading the NFL program, and somebody said, ’Man, [she] looks kinda disinterested here in the Super Bowl.’”
“I don’t even think she told me bye the night before when I was going to the game. I like tried to look for her, and she was watching something on Netflix,” Whitworth added in the episode, which will air Thursday. “She’s like, ’Alright, Dad, bye! Just go to the Super Bowl.’”
Whitworth became the NFL’s oldest active player when quarterback Tom Brady retired earlier this month, and the lineman acknowledged that he will likely go out on top.
“We’re going to sit down the next couple weeks, me and Sean McVay and we’ll figure that out,” Whitworth told ABC7 following the game. “But you know what, I think it is special to end on this note. And we’ll see what happens.”
