You borrowed it, you repay it

OPINION:

Taxpayers should not have to bear the brunt of canceled student loans (“Biden’s kowtowing on student loans doubly hurts low-income taxpayers,” Web, April 19). It is those such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who earns $175,000 per year as a U.S. representative, who want their student loans forgiven. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez can well afford to pay off her $17,000 debt. Forgiving student loans would be much like stealing from the poor and giving to the rich and middle class. And this is just one illustration of how the Democratic Party has become the party of the elite.
