Attending one of the nation’s biggest music festivals is suddenly more affordable, after Kanye West pulled out on April 4.

Secondary ticket broker TickPick reports that the average purchase price for a three-day pass to Coachella went from $685 before the Kanye news to just $465 after — a 32% decrease.

TickPick’s founder and CEO Brett Goldberg said Mr. West “continues to be one of the biggest draws in the business.”

The festival announced that The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia would replace Mr. West, but the move didn’t come without controversy.

The New York Post reported earlier this month that The Weeknd held out to be paid the same $8 million figure (plus a $500,000 production budget) after officials attempted to cut costs.

“The Weeknd came in at short notice to take Kanye’s top spot. But Phil Anschutz [who owns the Coachella Festival through AEG Live] wanted to hold on to Kanye’s money and pay The Weeknd far less, just a few million. The festival would pocket the rest,” a music source told The Post.

The festival is scheduled for April 15-17 and April 22-24 in Indio, California.
