In Mutual Loan Co. v. Martell, the court ruled laws require “concrete conditions” that show their need to exist (“Biden’s ’ghost gun’ crackdown draws fire from GOP,” Web, April 11). Without these, a law is unconstitutional.

Can anyone show me the data that supports new regulations on citizen-made firearms? Laws are enacted to stop “bad” things from happening. This is why immigration laws are supposed to be fully executed by the government.

How many of the guns in question were used by felons? How many of these felons were prosecuted to the full extent of the law? To how many years were they sentenced, and how large were the fines?

If current citizen safety laws are not enforced, new ones will do no good. If the Biden administration can’t answer these questions, it has no reason to create these new laws.
