OPINION:
Biden is held up as an example of someone who is slim, and therefore in good health, but I wouldn’t bet on it (“Pounding the public over COVID-19,” Web, Oct. 24). Have doctors checked the level of fat in his liver? He has a history of vascular disease, which is common for type 2 diabetics, especially if they have a sweet tooth. Biden certainly demonstrates an affinity for sweets, something also common in elderly dementia patients.
There is no interest in obesity in terms of public health because obesity is an integral part of the financial model on which our country runs. The relationship between the food and pharmaceutical industries is hardwired and synergistic. When the American Diabetes Association is afraid to admit that abstention from carbohydrates is a valid approach toward remission for a type-2 diabetic, you know you’re dealing with a captured and totally corrupt institution. Whether it be the Harvard University faculty, the American Heart Association, the Food and Drug Administration or any of the other large agencies, rest asuured it is not working for the public’s best interest.
If you want to be healthy, you are on your own. There are no public institutions to which to turn for guidance. As far as COVID-19 is concerned, the Amish in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, had herd immunity in May of 2020 — and their vaccination rates are near zero. They are hardwired to resist the government monolith that infringes on their culture, which means they will survive and be healthy. The rest of us will get fat, get sick and get vaxxed.
