“Tebow vs. Kaepernick: There’s no ’white privilege’ in NFL’s disparate treatment” (Web, May 26) omits a key fact, namely money. The questions you failed to consider are as follows: Would Colin Kaepernick play if offered what Jacksonville will pay Tim Tebow if Tebow makes the team? And would an owner be willing to hire Kaepernick to play if he were willing to accept a Tebow-like salary? I think the answers are no and yes.

As far as I can tell, the reason Kaepernick has not played and is still not playing in the NFL is that he is a second-team quarterback who wants to paid as a first-team one.
