PERU, Neb. (AP) - An Auburn woman has died in a crash near Peru, authorities in southeastern Nebraska said.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. Saturday on state Highway 67, about two miles west of Peru, the Lincoln Journal Star reported. A vehicle driven by Grace Allgood, 21, briefly went off the road, the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Allgood, who was alone in the car, overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll down an embankment, officials said.
Investigators said Allgood was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to investigators.
