OPINION:
Social Darwinism is the solution to the COVID-19 problem. The government needs to quit mollycoddling the American people and instead use tough love.
The government ought to announce that by Aug. 1, 2021, everyone should be fully vaccinated — because on that date no one will be allowed to wear a mask in public. The only exceptions would be for hospitals requiring masks on-site if they choose, or for those undergoing chemotherapy. No business or local or state government will be able to require anyone to wear a mask. It will be like the old days, where mask wearers were usually robbers.
This means those who still refuse to be vaccinated after Aug. 1 face the full risk of getting COVID-19. In addition, there should be no medical treatment offered for those who contract it, unless they can prove they were vaccinated. Â
If such a law or executive order were issued there would be lines, blocks long, of people waiting to be vaccinated. Those who decline to get the vaccine would thus be willingly assuming the risk. If they are under 50, the risk of death is slim to none. The rest of us would then be able to get on with our lives.
