Many political commentators on the left still don’t get the phenomenon of Donald Trump. Trumpism is here to stay. Many thought the Jan. 6 riot on Capitol Hill and Mr. Trump’s second impeachment trial signalled the end of the man politically, but instead he has gotten much stronger in many polls.

Mr. Trump is the clear frontrunner for the 2024 Republican Party presidential primaries. His comeback at the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) wasn’t surprising. Only health or a personal decision not to enter the race will remove Mr. Trump from the 2021 running. If he doesn’t run, a Trump-like candidate will be the GOP nominee.

The mainstream media and others call Donald Trump supporters cultists, but they fail to understand why Mr. Trump’s supporters are so loyal. Well, here’s why: Mr. Trump is a fighter, an outsider and a straight shooter, and he keeps the majority of his promises. For the past four years the media and others said he wouldn’t be able to grow his then-62.9-million-person base because he was focusing too much on them. Yet in 2020 he received an additional 11.2 million votes, the most ever garnered by an incumbent president.

The moves by the media and the Democratic lawyers going after Mr. Trump’s tax returns will only backfire and make Donald Trump stronger. I guess that’s why they call him Teflon Don.
