MALDEN, Mass. (AP) - A portion of an apartment building’s roof collapsed in a Boston suburb on Saturday, leaving dozens of residents unable to return to their homes.

WBZ-TV reports the parapet of a building in Malden, Massachusetts collapsed in the early morning hours. Roughly 35 tenants were forced to evacuate.

Malden Mayor Gary Christenson said in a statement he’s thankful no one was injured in the incident. He said the city building commissioner will investigate the cause of the collapse and evaluate the rest of the structure.

In the meantime, apartment residents have been placed in temporary housing, Christenson said.
