OXFORD, Neb. (AP) - Authorities in rural southwestern Nebraska say a teenager died in a fire near the town of Oxford.

Fire crews were called to the blaze in a farm shop building around 10:30 a.m. Monday in rural Furnas County, the Kearney Hub reported.

Firefighters who searched the building found Alan Jerry Weatherwax, 18, dead inside.



Officials said the fire was contained to the shop building. No other details were released.

The Nebraska State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire
