RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - A Southern California man who called 911 and said he had just stabbed his mother and accidentally cut himself during the attack was arrested on suspicion of murder, authorities said.
Officers responding to a home in Riverside on Sunday found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds, said Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback. Linda Coleman, 62, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Coleman’s son, 38-year-old Otis James Porter, was taken into custody without incident, Railsback said. It wasn’t known Tuesday if he has an attorney.
An initial investigation determined Porter stabbed his mother during an argument and accidentally stabbed himself in the leg, Railsback said.
Porter was treated at a hospital and then taken to jail. He could face a murder charge.
