BELLE PLAINE, Kan. (AP) - One person is dead after being struck by a train in Sumner County.
KWCH-TV reports that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck around 6:30 p.m. Sturday in the town of Belle Plaine. The victim’s name has not been released.
Police have not disclosed why the person was on the railroad track.
Belle Plaine is about 30 miles south of Wichita.
