PERKINS, Mo. (AP) - Two adults and a child were killed in a house fire in southeast Missouri, officials said.

The fire was reported Wednesday in Perkins, in Scott County. The dead included the homeowner, a friend and the friend’s child, Scott County Chief Deputy Ron Merideth said.

They were identified as Leon L. Phillips, 43; Jacquelyn R. Greenway, 40, and 10-year-old Casen Shelton, KFVS reported. They were found together in one room of the house.

Fire marshals were investigating the cause of the fire, but the sheriff’s office said there was no indication it was suspicious.

Autopsies determined the victims’ injuries were from the fire and also were not suspicious.
