COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Three teens are in custody and one is still on the run after an armed robbery of an 82-year-old woman in South Carolina’s Richland County.

Sheriff Leon Lott says it happened Monday, WIS-TV reported.

Authorities say the woman was approached by four young men wearing masks who offered to carry her items and she declined. Officials say one of the juveniles then hit her with a gun, pointed it at her and demanded her car keys. They all then fled in her vehicle.

Richland County deputies later spotted the vehicle on I-20 and they tried to pull it over but the driver refused to stop. A pursuit led into Lexington County where the driver hit a concrete barrier.

Officers say three of the teens were detained; one fled.

The three 14-year-olds face charges of armed robbery, grand larceny and use of a weapon during a violent crime. One of the juveniles was also charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to stop for blue lights and assault and battery. They’re being held in the juvenile wing of the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. It was unknown if any of them have an attorney who could speak for them.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the fourth suspect is asked to submit a tip to Crime Stoppers at crimesc.com. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
