TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Two men who were fatally shot on Tucson’s south side have been identified, police said Wednesday.
Officers were dispatched to the scene around 11 p.m. Tuesday and found 23-year-old Christopher Luiz Nunez and 22-year-old Bernadino Santamarina in a car with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.
Police said the men died at the scene.
The two were in a confrontation with another group in a parking lot before the shooting occurred, police said.
They said evidence was found at the scene and detectives were actively following up on leads for possible suspects in the case.
Witnesses told police they heard several shots go off in the neighborhood before a car came crashing into a cinder block wall around an apartment complex.
