There is more going on here than derangement syndrome (“The Make-A-Wish Foundation falls prey to COVID Derangement Syndrome,” Web, June 29). A recent study out of Israel, one of the most vaccinated countries on Earth, revealed that the number of vaccinated people needed to prevent one COVID-19 case was over 700. The number needed to prevent one death was over 10,000. These are population numbers, and would be different for subgroups such as children or an infirm 85-year-old.

Generally, when a medical intervention is offered with a number needed to treat over 100 it is considered unethical to proceed. You have to treat, on average, 100 people in order to help one person. Contrast this standard of care with the COVID-19 vaccine.

Medical ethics have been cast out the window. In fact, employers requiring vaccination do not have to report related adverse events in the OSHA system. The vaccination is explicitly exempt.

It has been known almost from the beginning that the risk to young people from this virus was nil. In fact, the median mortality from the virus for any particular country is above age 80.

You can scream about hanging Anthony Fauci if you like. Dr. Fauci certainly has a lot of the responsibility to bear for what has transpired. But the majority of the population seems hell-bent on treating their children as experimental lab rats. Before hanging Dr. Fauci perhaps you should look in the mirror.
