OPINION:
Why are you not publishing Justice Department/FBI data on gun violence and violent crime when you have articles about the politics of guns? The data destroys the political left at every step when presented on a county-by-county basis.
The left holds up Europe as this utopian place with a minimal number of guns, but the Justice Department county data clearly shows that U.S. rural and suburban counties have only a small fraction more gun and violent crime than Europe. It is in our urban counties (virtually all deep blue) where we see the vast majority of gun violence, murders and violent crime in general.
What’s more, it is very clear when you overlay the data on legal gun ownership that the relationship between gun violence and private gun ownership is inverse.
We have an urban gun and crime problem, per the experts at the Justice Department and the FBI. Please report on it because doing so cuts the legs out from under the Democrats, who should be made to answer for why their long-ruled areas of the country are murder rows.
