OPINION:
As a retired combat veteran, I am repulsed at fake leaders such as Gen. Mark Milley (“‘Adverse effect’: Pentagon leaders wary of Senate’s push to overhaul military justice system,” Web, June 22).
With few exceptions, flag officers of any gender have, for the better part of the later of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, been utterly worthless. They throw away what made them leaders in the first place for a chance at the political arena or a cushy board position of some corportation.
The workhorse of the American military is obviously the enlisted man and woman, who have to suffer from the incompetence of these fools day in and out. The latest string of incompetence is that of critical race theory. CRT is a disease that will utterly destroy the American military. To quote George C. Scott from the movie “Patton”: “The Army is a team. It lives, eats, breathes as a team. This individuality stuff is a bunch of crap.”
In agreement with that quote, CRT is a bunch of garbage. When you start integrating it into the military you break up the team filled with men and women from all walks of life who become brothers and sisters when they began to serve. Stirring racial hatred in the military and society as a whole will mean the collapse of both. When will we have competent officers again?
