OPINION:
I have enjoyed exploring and looking at many of Europe’s old buildings, gardens, art and statues. I have also learned, through the continent’s deliberate preservation of the terrible landmarks of the Holocaust, how humankind must never again allow such hatred to take root. Yes, having lived in Luxembourg and Germany I have seen much of it. Yet I’ve seen also that Europe takes pride in its various cultures, even with the scars of two world wars on its lands.
The United States also has a wonderful history, and many want to come here permanently. But of late our history, values and landmarks are being disfigured, dismantled, denigrated and despised — all by those with a “woke” mindset.
These people do not love this land. We hear them say so while systematically looting, burning and stealing. Whatever fits their agenda. This isn’t building. These people are trying to rewrite history — but once rewritten, it isn’t history, is it? It is just more destruction and waste. Not a pretty picture.
