Before newly elected legislators are sworn in, they attend orientation sessions during which they are taught how to set up an office and hire staff, as well as the process of passing legislation.

In light of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s repeated ignorance of history (“MTG sparks controversy with more Nazi comparisons,” Web, July 7) Sen. Josh Hawley’s limited knowledge of the Electoral College and Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s not knowing the three branches of the federal government, perhaps it’s time to add to the politicians’ coursework a short class on the Constitution, the history of racial/religious prejudice and the insensitivity of employing symbols of hate on Twitter.
