As someone who spent the bulk of their life in dysfunctional atmospheres rife with toxic masculinity, I champion any legislation which fights sexual violence, regardless of the gender involved (“Pa. court overturns Cosby’s conviction, releases him from prison,” Web, June 30). 

However, because of the media’s hypnotic desensitization of the #MeToo movement’s strife and the movement’s gender tyrannies, I’m left numb to social intolerance. 

Although the court’s verdict in the Bill Cosby case may be seen by #MeToo as a judicial blindsiding, it in fact protects and reinforces our nation’s July 4 notion of freedom.
