BRUNSWICK, Maine (AP) - Several of Maine’s duck hunting seasons are coming to an end for the year in the coming days.
The season for sea ducks, including scoters, eiders and long-tailed ducks, ends on Jan. 16. Hunters are allowed to take five sea ducks, but not more than four of any individual species.
The hunting seasons for other ducks, including black ducks and pintails, ended earlier in the winter or fall.
Hunters are required to use nontoxic shot and abide by other state hunting rules. They’re encouraged to consult with authorities before hunting.
The next major hunting season in Maine is the spring turkey hunt, which takes place in May and June.
