BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Two people died in an early morning fire Saturday in Burlington that also left one firefighter with minor injuries, authorities said.

Firefighters arrived at the scene of the blaze at a six-unit apartment building after 5 a.m., officials said. There was heavy fire on the second floor up to the third floor.

Firefighters began a search of the building and found two unconscious people in one of the second floor apartments, officials said. Both of them have died, officials said.



One firefighter suffered minor injuries. No other people in the building were injured, authorities said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
