NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Police in New Haven were investigating Saturday after a man’s body was found in a frozen duck pond.

A passerby called 911 shortly before 9 a.m. to report a body in the ice-covered pond in the Edgewood Park neighborhood of the city, near Yale University.

Police and fire personnel responded, and the fire department’s water and rescue team removed an adult male from the pond. He was pronounced dead at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Police hadn’t publicly identified the man, and asked members of the public with any information to contact them.
