NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A 16-year-old Tennessee boy has been charged with killing two other juveniles and trying to kill a third, police said.

Metro Nashville Police charged the boy Thursday with two counts of criminal homicide and one count of attempted criminal homicide, a statement from the agency said.

Three juveniles were shot on Nov. 24 inside a stolen pickup truck as it traveled East on Interstate 24, police said. The driver, Abdiwahab Adan, 12, and one passenger, Donquez Abernathy, 14, were killed. A 14-year-old girl, who wasn’t identified, was wounded.

The boy charged was also a passenger in the vehicle and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation, police said.

The vehicle had been stolen days earlier after the keys were left in it, authorities said.
