ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police continue to investigate a shooting that killed a man and his 7-year-old daughter.
The shooting happened Sunday night in the city’s Central West End neighborhood. The adult’s name has not been released but police on Monday identified the child as Dmyah Fleming. Investigators say both were inside a car when they were shot.
The man died at the scene, and the girl was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. Police have not disclosed a possible motive. No arrests have been made.
The killings brought the city’s homicides to 16 since the start of the new year. The child’s death marked the city’s second homicide of the year involving someone under age 17.
