BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota health officials say three more people have died from COVID-19 in the state, bringing the overall death toll from the pandemic to 1,403.
An additional 196 new cases of the virus were confirmed Friday. Health officials say a total of 96,567 people have had the virus in South Dakota since last March. Officials say 93,980 people have recovered.
Fifty-three people remained in a hospital Friday, down one from the previous day.
Active cases statewide rose slightly, to 1,184, the Bismarck Tribune reported.
According to data provided to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, 12,428 people in North Dakota have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccination. That’s about 1.6% of the state’s population. There can be a lag in CDC data, as healthcare providers report doses up to 72 hours after a dose is administered.
